Having been one of the prototype users of COINS framing, as well as two other packages, my experience is that each of them was substantially more costly and burdensome in their use as well as the amount of unnecessary detail created. Utilizing Architectural Architecture Structural Members, takeoffs, and scheduling of all of the WoodBeam members is included.
Krupa WoodBeam is AutoCAD Architecture enhancement software for drafting and modeling of the wood framing of light frame buildings.

This download is a fully-functioning 30-day trial. Creating the schedule is done with a click of Add/Update Schedule button. The Wood Beam & Joist Schedule is an ACA Schedule Table Style created especially for this module. Tag numbers are incremented automatically for each unique member, with respect to its physical properties and its elevation, and its prefix. Tags are automatically assigned a prefix, depending on the type of member, and how it is being used (J for joist, R for rafter, etc.). Tags may be placed on members automatically as you draw them, or added later. The corner need not be square, and the two slopes need not be the same – the program figures it all out and places the beam accordingly. Justification options are provided for each placement.Ī special method is provided to simplify this normally complicated process. Extension(s) may be specified for each end. Pitch (or slope) may be specified, with choice of plumb or square end cuts. Several options govern how a beam is placed. Arched GluLam beams may be created - very difficult to create in standard ACA, but easily done here. A multiple member option is provided for all member types that allow it. See for more information.Īll standard lumber sizes are available, in nominal, rough, and pressure treated varieties, along with engineered wood product members as provided by the major manufacturers. A variety of commonly used trusses may be created, as AEC structural members. All this is contained in one dialog, accessed by one command - no need to access various palettes and ribbon tabs or do any complicated setup. This module provides not only the members, but also the MVBlock (tag), Property Set Definition, and Schedule table style. In this category there are dwg files of wooden trusses, a wide choice of files for all the designer's needs. This application provides an easy way to create wood beams, joists, rafters, plates, hips and valleys, along with tags and beam schedule. The monk-bracket complex also has the function of keeping the entire truss in the vertical plane.īolted Roof Trusses (or struts or counter-affixes or spokes or counter-points): these are the elements with an inclination opposite to that of the struts that limit the deflection of the struts themselves, discharging the compression force to which they are subjected onto the monk.īandages, hoops, stirrups, bolting guarantee a more effective transfer of stress between the profiles, also completing the action of any notches and shapes. The monk takes charge, with tensile stresses, as soon as the chain bends, affecting the stirrup. Monk wood truss (or little man or colonel): it is the vertical element inside the truss and has the task of stiffening the structure. The chain supports traction forces that would otherwise be placed on the support point of the struts in the form of a horizontal force. Truss wood chain (or rope or tie rod): it is the horizontal element that constitutes the base of the triangle and transfers the weight of the entire structure to the walls on which it rests, through vertical actions. Stressed by pressure-bending, the struts exert a pushing action on the chain (main beam), stressing it in traction. Truss wood struts (or arms or biscuits): they are the inclined beams that determine the slope of the roof.
